About Us

Pivot Dance Studio is a community of friendly, supportive and fun people who connect through Latin dancing. We provide Latin dance classes and lessons for those of all levels. Whether you want to learn salsa, bachata, merengue; we want to help you learn how to love Latin dance. We see dancing as a great way to meet people, make new friends and learn a new skill.

Our favourite part of teaching is watching the students develop new skills and becoming confident on the dance floor. In some cases, compete or shine on the international world stage. We teach everyone from beginner to performance level in both our Salsa Dance Classes & Bachata Dance Classes. We also have the option of private, 1 on 1 dance classes or events and group lessons.

We are located in Mississauga and Oakville, Canada. Come along to one of our classes and try something new. We look forward to meeting you.

Daria Novoselova - Pivot Dance School

Daria Novoselova

Daria Novoselova fell in love with dancing at the age of 3, when she was first taken to a dance studio by her mom. Since then she was trained in various types of dance such as jazz, gymnastics and ballroom until she moved to Canada from Russia at the age of 15. She then spent a few years on finishing high school and then University until she put her dance shoes back on and discovered a new passion for Salsa.

Daria and her partner, Roberto Quaresma, started dancing together in 2014 and only 3 months into their partnership, they entered their first competition at the World Latin Dance Cup in Miami in December 2014 and became 2x Amateur Salsa World Champions. Shortly after, Daria suffered a devastating neck injury during a dance practice and was nearly paralyzed. She had to undergo surgery not knowing if she would ever be able to dance again. After months of recovery and wearing a neck brace, she gradually returned to the dancefloor just in time to go back to Miami to defend the couple’s championship title.

Despite a very challenging year for both dancers, in December 2015 Roberto and Daria became 2x Amateur World Salsa Champions. The comeback story inspired many and was covered by numerous newspapers, such as the Toronto Star, as well as the CBC News TV and radio. Since then the couple has travelled, taught and performed both bachata and salsa in many dance congresses around the world in places like Los Angeles, Dubai, Japan and Australia and appeared on CP24 and Global News morning shows.
